Help for Working Group Member Comment Response
Accepting or Rejecting the Working Group's Response to Your Comment
Comment submitters are asked to provide their acceptance or rejection of the Working Group’s response and resolution of their comment during a 10-business day response review period. When a comment submitter is a member of that Working Group, comment submitters are encouraged to respond to the Working Group’s response in NENA Workspace (NWS), even if they provided a verbal response during a Working Group call. Occasionally, it may be more efficient (e.g., responding to multiple comments) or timely (e.g., NWS offline) to email your acceptance or rejection directly to the Working Group Co-Chairs. A response from the comment submitter, whether directly into NWS or written in an email, removes any ambiguity regarding the comment submitter’s acceptance or rejection of the Working Group’s comment response.
Add Your Response in NWS
Open the comment by clicking on the View Comment Details link at the bottom of the Comment Response email.
Select the green button Add a response or change state.
Update the State by selecting the drop-down arrow next to State: Addressed 1 and select Submitter Accepted Response or Submitter Rejected Response.
Provide Supporting Information if Rejecting a Response
- If the response is being rejected, an explanation must be added to the Respond to Comment box 2 that provides supporting information and details for the Working Group to reconsider.
- An attachment can be added to the comment by clicking on the green +Add Supporting File 3 button.
- So that the attachment is not overlooked, add a note into the Respond to Comment text box 2 indicating there is an attachment.
Submit Your Response
- Update the Notification Options 4 so that only Notify the Comment Submitter and Notify the Comment Owner (Resolver/Assignee) are checked. Uncheck all others.
- Select the blue Submit button 5 to send the response confirmation to the Working Group.
Email Your Response to the Co-Chairs
When responding by email to the Working Group Co-Chairs, indicate in the body your acceptance or rejection for each comment, including the comment number. The email subject line should simply state "Comment Resolution Acceptance/Rejection."
If the response to a comment is being rejected, include an explanation that provides supporting information and details for the Working Group to reconsider. Attach any additional documentation to the email to further support the comment rejection.
The Working Group Co-Chairs will add your emailed comment response into NWS on your behalf.
Withdrawing a Comment You Submitted
A comment submitter may decide after participating in the Working Group discussion about their comment or another similar comment, that their comment is no longer relevant, and the comment submitter would like to withdraw their comment. When a comment submitter is a member of that Working Group, comment submitters are encouraged to withdraw their comment in NENA Workspace (NWS), even if they provided a verbal response during a Working Group call. Occasionally, it may be more efficient (e.g., withdrawing multiple comments) or timely (e.g., NWS offline) to email their request for comment withdrawal directly to the Working Group Co-Chairs. A withdrawal request from the comment submitter, whether directly into NWS or written in an email, removes any ambiguity regarding the comment submitter’s intent to withdraw their comment.
