The PDE (Position Determining Entity) determines the precise position or geographic location of a wireless terminal when the MS starts a call or while the MS is engaged in a call. Each PDE supports one or more position determining technologies. Multiple PDEs may service the coverage area of an MPC and multiple PDEs may serve the same coverage area of an MPC utilizing different positioning determining technologies.
